IF YOU ARE ALL INTO THAT SURFER, YOGA, INSTAGRAMMABLE FOOD AND BEACHY-BOHO VIBE, THEN YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE CANGGU. It feels like time almost stops there. The energy of the town is so namaste relaxed and peaceful.
Canggu is a perfect getaway from the loud and busy neighbours Seminyak and Kuta. Although, it has lost some of its authenticity (due to the hipster-organic-vegan instagram-worthy places), it still a very cool and laid-back place.
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT CANGGU?
The mornings. Our Airbnb had a pool, so we started every morning with a refreshing dip and ate fresh fruit by the poolside. Sounds like heaven? Well, it really was.
WHAT REALLY STOLE MY HEART ?
The rice fields. It really felt like a scene from a movie – just us two driving the scooter between the endless fields of rice.
One day we were exploring the outside of Canggu, when it started to rain. So we hopped into a little local restaurant we found on the way. This was the most magical experience – we ate our gado-gado on the terrace and watched rain pour down on the rice fields.
After chatting with the owner for a while he invited us to a yoga that was held on the same terrace the next morning. Of course we could not say no to this offer, so the next morning we were there at 7 am, ready to start the day.
MY TOP 5 THINGS I LOVED-LOVED-LOVED IN CANGGU:
◊ VISITING THE FARMERS’ MARKET
◊ DRIVING A SCOOTER THROUGH THE RICE FIELDS
◊ EATING LOTS OF YUMMY FOOD (heaven for vegans!)
◊ DOING YOGA (gorgeous studio at Farmers’ Market)
◊ WATCHING THE SUNSET AT ECHO BEACH
