I love every warm and sunny weather and don’t have the heart to waste them inside. So when last weekend we spent in Montserrat, then this weekend we decided to go to Sitges.
Sitges has a laid-back resort vibe. Although it is full of people (especially on the weekends), it is still feels very relaxed. Sitges is only a 40-minute train ride from Barcelona. And the train system is very comfortable here. The trains go quite often (but do check the timetable before) and the ticket was 4€ for one way.
I THINK SITGES THE BEST GETAWAY FROM BARCELONA, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SANDY BEACHES, PALM TREES AND BLUE WATER.
Maybe it’s the effect of the sun (that makes everyone a bit sleepy), maybe it’s the long sandy beachside or maybe it’s the cute white houses that bring the feeling of holidays. I know-I know, our trip lasted only for one day, but it STILL felt like a vacation. In addition to the beach, Sitges is full of things to do and see as well. But we left all the sightseeing for the next time and spent the WHOLE DAY lying on the beach and swimming in the bright blue sea. What could be more perfect than this?
After we were done with the beach, we ate some falafel wraps and strolled around the little streets. A warm breeze, coffee in one hand and Markus in another is all I need for a perfect afternoon.
Oh by the way, Sitges is also super gay friendly. Actually, it’s the unofficial gay capital here in Spain. This means lot of cute couples everywhere. The whole town kinda has a romantic feel. ♥
